Virgin Mobile USA and SK Telecom’s MVNO Helio, have announced that the two are in preliminary talks. This isn’t breaking news considering the talks are just basic introductions and may not even result in a transaction. If no agreement is reached, Helio has said it will not publish any further commentary. If Virgin acquires Helio, it will basically mean the extinction of MVNOs. With obile ESPN, Disney Mobile and Amp’d Mobile all dead, Helio is the last of the dinosaurs.
