The jB5 Mobile Browser from Jataayu Software, a Windows Mobile browser, adds some unique functionality that may make for a better browsing experience. It seems to share the same rendering engine as PIE, so don’t expect the fantastic Opera 9.5-like rendering.
Since the web page rendering is very similar to PIE, page loads aren’t terribly quick, tables aren’t always correctly aligned, etc. Also, you can’t flick scroll or tap and drag to pan. But, there are some pretty cool features of jB5:
1. Quickly add a web link to your Today screen (seen in the first screenshot above)
2. Toggle between multiple web pages (seen in the second screenshot)
3. Auto-scroll, which lets you read long web pages without continually pressing the down arrow (speed adjustments had nice increments so that the page didn’t scroll too quick)
4. Import PIE bookmarks
There is a version for both touchscreen and non-touchscreen devices, and it’s free. It may be good to use while we await the broad release of SkyFire and Opera 9.5. Click here to download.
