Codasystem Shoot&Proof available for BlackBerry (BlackBerry Bytes)

shootandproof for BlackBerryFrench software developer Codasystem announced yesterday the release of their Shoot&Proof application for BlackBerry. Shoot&Proof allows enterprise and prosumer users to host and share images taken via their BlackBerry in a secure environment. Because it establishes the legal value of photos—who took what pictures, when and where— Shoot&Proof can be deployed by construction and public works, real estate, poster advertising, the press and maintenance industries.

Paris, France - Codasystem, the company that created certified digital photography, announces that its Shoot&Proof™ application is now available for BlackBerry® smartphones. Business users as well as individuals are able to capture images on their BlackBerry smartphone, host and share them in a secure environment.

With a growth rate in excess of 100 percent in the last two years and several technological innovation awards since it started up in 2001, the French company Codasystem is now further expanding its Shoot&Proof™ offer.

Since the beginning of the year, Shoot&Proof™ wireless software has been deployed by many construction and public works, real estate, poster advertising, the press and maintenance.

Shoot&Proof™ fully meets the needs of businesses of all kinds and individuals who are looking for a system for hosting and sharing high-quality digital pictures. Because it establishes the legal value of photos—who took what pictures, when and where— Shoot&Proof™ stands out from existing, usually free services for publishing and sharing photos. Technical abilities as cryptography, as well as full mastery of the links of the process (from picture creation to stocking) enable Codasystem to assure the legal value of digital photography taken with the Shoot&Proof™ application. Although an extremely broad spectrum of business people use photos today, such offers are of no help to them, since the level of service delivered is not compatible with business requirements.

In addition, because digital photos can be altered by anyone, a service provider will have trouble proving that an event was held or a service actually performed.
“We are extremely proud to announce today that our software is compatible with the BlackBerry solution,” stated Frédéric Levaux, the Chairman of Codasystem. “Porting it to BlackBerry smartphones seemed self-evident, and we spent several months working on that with the people at RIM. Codasystem targets some of the same business users as RIM, so we can now address additional markets and win over new customers.”

How to read a QR code - BeeTagg for the iPhone reviewed

qrcode

Can you read this QR code?

A Quick Response code is the 2.0 version of a bar code. They can contain much more information than a bar code. The codes are great for the mobile space because with your average camera phone, you can read these codes.

A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The “QR” is derived from “Quick Response”, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.

BlackBerry porn by Pinota - optimized pics and video

BlackBerry porn

Pinota is the first and only adult entertainment network for BlackBerry. A few months back I tried to register BlackBerryPorn.com but RIM had bought the domain like days before me. Imagine owning that domain? RIM would pay huge money to put the kibosh on it. Well porn finds a way and now Pinota is trying to capitalize on all the business men and women who want to look at nude people during meetings. Also of note, when you Google Pinota, the first thing that comes up is the Finnish word, which in English means “to stack”. Coincidence?

Go to www.pinota.com on your BlackBerry and sign up to be a beta tester. How do you “test” porn? I’ll leave that to your imagination.

Gmail for mobile 2.0 - BlackBerry and Java rejoice

Gmail for mobile has gone 2.0 and there are a ton of updates. The new Gmail mobile is directed at J2ME and BlackBerry devices. Here are the highlights:

  • Overall performance improvement: You should experience significant raw speed improvement, smoother scrolling, and no freezing.
  • Multiple accounts management: If you have both a Gmail and Google Apps email account, you can easily switch between them quickly. You will no longer have to use two different mobile apps to access personal and work emails.
  • Multiple mobile email drafts: You can save multiple email drafts in your mobile phone, so that you can pick and choose what you would like to send later.
  • Powerful shortcut keys: If you have a QWERTY phone, you can use shortcut keys. Hit ‘z’ to undo, ‘k’ to go to a newer conversation, and ‘j’ to go to an older conversation. See Menu/Help in the app for more shortcuts.
  • Basic offline support: Can’t get a signal? Not a problem. You can compose and read your most recent emails even when there is no signal. Also, any outgoing messages will be saved in the outbox on your phone and sent automatically when you’re back in coverage.

THQ Wireless presents WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009

QuicklyBored exclusive! THQ Wireless gave us a preview of their upcoming game WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009. We put together a video of the gameplay and the graphics look great. This game is going to be a huge hit with WWE fans everywhere. Personally, I got atomic body slammed about 3,000 times by Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio slapped me so hard I actually felt it in real life. I hope you guys do better. Here are some of the new features that come with the game:

  • All new grab and slam grapple system!
  • Improved submission challenges
  • More slams, throws, and high-flying attacks!
  • New showboat system!
  • Play as some of the hottest names in the WWE, such as Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Undertaker and John Cena!
  • No pre-loaded or official Facebook app for Android G1

    Facebook

Facebook fans will be disappointed to know that Android does not offer an official Facebook app. I’m curious why Facebook decided to invest so much money in the iPhone and BlackBerry and they’ve given zero attention to the G1. There could be some weird politics behind the scenes. Facebook gets its advertising from Microsoft while Google serves up ads for Myspace. There could be a conflict of interest here.

So I put the question to QB readers, how important is it to you to have Facebook mobile?

Gmail Mobile 2.0.6 now released for BlackBerry

Much like Kevin, I too spent most of my time at the BBDC praising the two nice gents from Google, but soon left them alone after they refused my third request for a job (one day…). Turns out it was a good thing I left them alone, as they were busy prepping an update to Gmail Mobile 2.0. Gmail Mobile has always been a must-have app for Gmail users that want to keep their Gmails separate from their regular BlackBerry inbox, and the Google team has made it even better. The most notable updates are basic offline support and multiple account management, but you can see the full update breakdown after the jump!

Head to m.google.com/mail to download the new version. Google: my offer still stands. I will work for peanuts.

Right now, they’re offering a sign up to be a beta tester at:

Just don’t let your boss catch you ‘going beta’ on your BlackBerry at work, if you know what I mean.
