Straight from the horse#8217;s mouth: this tweet showed up Friday on Microsoft#8217;s Twitter account. Good to know this one is in the box and ready to ship (despite the a href=”http://www.windowsmobilecool.com/2009/05/totally-illigal-wm-65-totally-illigal-device-launches/”head start/a some manufacturers got). So what#8217;s so great about 6.5?/p
pI think the key is going to be the new IE, with a IE6.0-compatible engine. This means it can handle Flash and other newer technologies natively, beating out the iPhone and BlackBerry browsers at last (#8230; but watch for the iPhone 2.0 dropping next month to put Apple back in front). /p
pBeyond that, they#8217;ve made some nifty, Zune-esque UI improvements, but didn#8217;t go as far as shell-replacement apps like Spb Mobile Shell - which is just awesome. Leave the new home screen in WinMo 6.5 and the rest looks very much the same as WinMo 6.1, 6.0, 5.0#8230; which makes sense since it is really just an upgrade. /p
